Mr Al Afi, a retired sergeant army decided to clean the quarry which had become the town waste dump site. During the war, this Roman quarry boasts the 2 largest cut stones in the world which the Roman destined to be the podium of the jupiter temple. But the temple was never completed and the mononliths remained in the quarry.

Nowadays, the rehabilited site with all efforts of Mr Al Afi had became a tourtistic site that attracted hundreds of tourists each day. You can meet Mr Al Afihad at his small souvenir shop near the site where everyone is offered a welcome Lebanese coffee.
