Inaugurated in 2000 on the occasion of 125th anniversary of USJ, the Museum of Lebanese Prehistory is the culmination of a more global project carried out in collaboration with the Institute of Oriental Prehistory of the French National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the Louvre Museum.

Over 500 prehistoric items carefully selected by Jesuits scholars since the 19th century are exhibited at the Universite Saint-Joseph’s historic museum. Window displays, panels, and recreated scenes accurately represent the various aspects of the daily life of prehistoric man. A documentary film is shown at the end of the tour.
