Rashaya el Wadi, a town in Rashaya district, Bekaa, is situated at around 1,350 metres above sea level on the western slopes of Mount Hermon or Jabal el Cheick.
Rashaya famous for its cobbled street small shops, old fashioned oil stoves, and its handmade traditional silver jewelry.
Each piece of jewelry is individually handmade by local silversmith in Rashaya El Wadi, using traditional hand tools and avoiding harmful chemicals.
Issam El Maqt, is the last silver craftman in Rashaya el Wadi. You can pass by his shop at the entrance of the historic cobbled souk where Mr Issam is pleased to do a demonstration on Silver mending. Tel: 70 928 694
